Pocono Truck Race Pushed To Sunday By Rain

LONG POND, Pa. – Mother Nature accomplished two feats Saturday morning at Pocono Raceway.

Not only did rain wash out the scheduled NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at the 2.5-mile, three-turn facility, it also set up a unique first in NASCAR history.

With the postponement of the Pocono Organics 150 To Benefit Farm Aid to Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET, it will mark the first time in NASCAR history that all three of the sanctioning body’s national series will race on the same day at the same race track.

The Truck Series is scheduled to lead off the day at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series at 12:30 p.m. ET and the NASCAR Cup Series at 4 p.m. ET.

When the Truck race does go green, past series champion Johnny Sauter will lead the field to the start, flanked on the front row by Sheldon Creed. Point leader Austin Hill starts third.

Saturday is still scheduled to feature a 325-mile NASCAR Cup Series event, part of a doubleheader for the premier series over back-to-back days.

Aric Almirola will start from the pole in the first of two Cup Series races this weekend.
