After managing just one hit through eight innings and on the verge of being swept in a doubleheader by Detroit, the Mets completed a stunning comeback in the bottom of the ninth to win their first game of 2024 2-1. Pete Alonso launched a solo shot to tie it and Tyrone Taylor delivered a walk-off RBI single, giving Carlos Mendoza his first managerial win.
