Wins for Kenya and Austria in Italy while races take place at Ben Nevis and the British Junior Championships at Ambleside

Valsir Mountain Running World Cup, Italy, September 4

On the Trofeo Nasego hills, Kenyan Patrick Kipngeno ran a strong second half and set a course record in 1:30:46 to take almost two minutes off the previous record to increase his leadership in the Valsir Mountain Running World Cup.

Fellow Kenyan Philemon Kiriago (1:31:45) also bettered the previous mark in second.

Eritrean Petro Mamu was third in 1:35:36.

Andrea Mayr won the women’s race in 1:47:32 ahead of Kenyan Joyce Muthoni Nijeru’s 1:50:14 and American Lauren Gregory (1:51:25).
